Power BI (Module 7 demo + optional self-paced)

Trainer — build in Desktop (once, before class)

    • Where: Power Query → Close & Apply → Modeling view — storage mode Import (not DirectQuery unless Module 8 streaming demo)
    • Doc: Storage modes
    • Where: Desktop → File → Save as → YellowLine-NYC-KPIs.pbix

Trainer — publish to cloud workspace (if Pro / Fabric licensed)

    • Where: Desktop → File → Options → Global → Security — sign in with MHP account that has workspace access
    • Where: Desktop → Home → Publish → select workshop workspace (not My workspace)
    • Verify: Power BI Service → Workspaces → <workshop workspace> → report + semantic model listed
    • Doc: Publish from Desktop
    • Where: app.powerbi.com → dataset → ⋯ → Refresh now
    • Configure: Snowflake warehouse DE_WORKSHOP_WH must resume (auto or manual)
    • Doc: Configure scheduled refresh
    • Where: Open report in Service → click through each page tab
    • Verify: Borough shape map + zone bubble map load (nyc-boroughs.topojson)
    • Where: app.powerbi.com → workspace → Manage access → Add people → co-trainer email → Member or Contributor
    • Where: Dataset → Settings → Scheduled refresh → daily before class start
    • Doc: Scheduled refresh
    • Where: Run through chosen path once end-to-end on classroom network
    • Where: Workspace settings → check Premium capacity or Fabric — determines if viewers need Pro licenses
    • Doc: Licenses for sharing

Trainee self-paced (optional, after Module 4)

    • Where: Verify links on production training site Module 7 section
